INITIAL PREPRESS SITUATION:
Prior to installing an electronic pre-press system in August 1992,
Nielsen received information from clients via art boards and disks.
Any disk-based jobs were sent out to a service bureau to output
all line and text elements to film, and then strip in separations
conventionally. Nielson used a Diadem/Royal Zenith Model 210L scanner
and a DS Model 808II scanner. Their stripping department employed
13 strippers.
CLIENT ISSUES:
CHANGE IN PREPRESS SITUATION:
All Systems Color installed 3 Macintosh based color workstations
into Nielsen's prepress department. In addition, an Optronics ColorSetter
4000 output device with an autoloader was installed to provide film
output. All Systems Color integrated Nielsen's existing scanner,
a Diadem Royal Zenith into the configuration with a Diadem Scan
